Knock On Wood

It’s amazing how tired radiation makes me. I’ve been sleeping from 8:30-8:30 and wake up feeling like I need WAY more sleep – but my back hurts and I can’t lay down any longer.

Luckily, my last day of it is tomorrow…as long as there are no more surprises, or Dr’s randomly telling me I need more treatment, that is. So assuming there are no last minute decisions (knock, knock), then all I will have left after tomorrow are: Herceptin treatments every 3 weeks (thus Thursday is my next one), reconstructive surgery, and ongoing nutritionist and therapy appointments.

The silver lining of radiation is the mandatory month long recovery period. I return to work September 2nd, so I’m looking forward to spending the rest of the summer with my family and friends. That’s a lot of time I wouldn’t normally get!
